S-Game has officially announced that sign-ups are now open for the second Closed Beta Test of Phantom Blade: Executioners, the indie developer’s action RPG on iOS and Android. The so-called “kungfupunk” game features stylish artwork inspired by traditional Chinese paintings, as well as futuristic steampunk machinery and an intriguing narrative to boot.
Beginning August 18th, the second Closed Beta Test will offer a limited number of players the chance to experience the game provided they sign up from now until August 11th. The second CBT follows the successful CBT1 in February – this time around, players can expect revamped stages, more story content, and even an additional playable character named “Chord” (in addition to Soul and Mu Xiaokui).
Stages are now more visually impressive with the addition of physical depth using dynamic 2D. Players can also encounter environmental hazards like traps and such, as well as discover hidden treasures as they go along.
From now until August 11th, there will be a special sweepstakes event on Facebook and Twitter that will give away Phantom Blade: Executioners artbook (limited edition) x5 and Amazon Gift Cards (30 USD) x10 to lucky fans, so be sure you’re tuned in to the social media channel to stay updated on all the latest developments. A total of 50,000 testers will be chosen for the CBT2, with refundable microtransactions enabled for Android users as well as a 100% gratitude bonus during the Open Beta.
