Mattel163 has just announced a summer update for Skip-Bo, their mobile solitaire-style card game that is over half a century old. The update takes players during a summer vacation as it features a new seasonal event, another chapter, a whopping 160 new levels, and tonnes of new collectables.
Skip-Bo Mobile’s latest version adds two new updates to Adventure Mode. The first is Summerland, which will take players on a month-long journey through the card world as players unlock numerous collectables to add to their stash. Players will have until August 20th to wrap up the levels of this event. Those aren’t the only stages being added to Skip-Bo though.
With this update, the developers have also added a bunch of new chapters and levels taking the total tally to an insane number of 1450. That’s definitely going to take a while to clear. In addition to that those two updates, players are also being tasked with catching Skip-Bo characters in the act, whether it be playing volleyball, surfing, or any such sporty activity. Capturing these polaroids will unlock treasure chests that contain a myriad of coins and hidden goodies.
Speaking about their journey since launch, Amy Huang, CEO of Mattel163, said: “Since we launched the game in October 2021, Skip-Bo Mobile now has seen a retention at over 50%, much higher than average games in the same genre. It’s clear the classic card game which turns 55 this year is incredibly popular on mobile, and beloved by players from all around the world! We aim to provide a more diversified and refreshed way of playing the game, adding new twists including seasonal events and collectibles to make Skip-Bo Mobile fun for all generations.”
